Application Discovery

What is Discovery

When we run a Discovery within R3E the platform is capturing all the elements from an application installation that are required to successfully launch a Smoke Test of the package. This is required for all packages within R3E.

Discovery process

1. Select your packages for Discovery

   Navigate to Packages>Manage

   The packages screen opens.

   

   Within this screen you will notice that under the Discovery column any un-Discovered packages will have N/A next to them.

   Select the packages to be Discovered by either clicking in each Select box or Select All on the left hand side.

   You can also re-Discover applications as well.
   If you have made any changes to application names, file names or file size either within SCCM or in the associated Application Directory and you re-Import them then they will also require re-Discovery prior to Smoke Testing to ensure the change has been incorporated in R3E.

2. The Discovery Wizard will open

   Click Next

   

   You will see your selected Package Installation files listed.

3. Choose your Gateway and target Task Runner Operating System.

   Click Finish

   

   R3E will then automatically run the Discovery process against all the selected packages.
